I need to lose weight and I want to add running to my cycling. Any training ideas or plans on how to start back into it? I haven't run since I retired from the military 4 years ago. I need a walk, jog, run program I think! Thanks for any info!

Start by walking. Get your biomechanics checked. Start jogging in the middle of the run, and expand that. Always warm-up and cool-down at least 15 minutes. Follow the 10% rule of prgression (i.e., do not increase any one of the following parameters more than 10% per week: intensity, frequency, duration, and do not increase more than one at a time), and build in rest as a structured, scheduled part of your program. Periodize. _________________ I love France. I just hate Toulouse. I'd really hate to lose le Trek.

I have just started running and have found a walk/run program like this helpful.
